Roy Brooks has been a name in London estate agency since 1934. From 1950 until his death in 1971 his advertisements in the Sunday Times and the Observer created national notoriety for one endearing reason: his puckish delight in telling the truth and sometimes even the unwholesome truth, not only about the properties but in his incomparable descriptions of their owners.
