Lurot Brand was founded in 1971 by Antoine Lurot. Antoine was, and remains passionate about motorsports and he was actively involved in rallying. He found that many of his friends and colleagues were buying unconverted mews houses for the garaging, a rare feature in London even then. He quickly realised that there was potential for a specialist estate agency.
In the early 1980's Antoine carried out his own photographic survey of all the mews of London. We still retain this record and have endeavoured to keep it up to date with further photographs from time to time. This unique record spans the period that saw most mews being converted and modernised. The company’s long period of specialisation has meant that we have sold many hundreds of mews houses, some of them several times, over the past twenty five years.
In 1995 Antoine and Kati added a residential lettings department and this now offers all kinds of prime rental property across central London.
The founder's son, Oliver Lurot, joined the firm in 1997 and was appointed director in 2006. Like his father, Oliver has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the mews of London.
Lurot Brand has branches in South Kensington, Marylebone and on the Hyde Park Estate.
