Browns Estate Agency was founded in June 1991 by property professionals with over 70 years combined experience in estate agency and property consultancy in the Tees Valley area. Since inception the company has successfully combined traditional family business values, with a high degree of professionalism and modern technology which has seen the company grow significantly.

The establishment of the Stockton Estate Agency office, in June 1991, was soon followed by additional offices in Norton, Ingleby Barwick and Yarm. Browns are now one of the leading estate agency firms in the Tees Valley Area.
Further expansion has included the opening of specialist departments for financial services, survey and valuation, commercial, and residential lettings.
Browns now act for the majority of the National Housebuilders working in the area, and are residential property consultants to the Teesside Tomorrow Professional Firms Group. Chris Brown is a past chairman of the local Teesside Branch of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and for a number of years was Chairman of the North East Branch of the National Association of Estate Agents.
