The three-storey town house, once the Georgians' answer to urban living, has come full circle with its original principles providing a blueprint for solving some of today's housing issues.
During the Georgian and Victorian times almost every metropolitan centre had its own splendid examples of three-storey living, and today the three-storey Idaho model at Bellway’s Broughton MK housing development in Milton Keynes beautifully captures the elegance and flexibility of these homes.
The Broughton MK development is situated off H7 Chaffron Way. Ideally located close to schools, shops, a medical centre, children’s play area and community centre, it is also encircled by the Redway network of pedestrian and cycle paths which allows residents to walk or cycle safely to the centre of Milton Keynes and all other amenities.

Four-bedroom Idaho townhouses are priced from £294,950 and offer 1436 square foot of space, two en-suite bathrooms, garage and two parking spaces. The ground floor features a living/dining room with patio doors opening to the garden, a WC, studio room with patio doors, kitchen and utility room. Two bedrooms, one en-suite, and a bathroom occupy the first floor whilst the top floor features a master bedroom with en-suite facilities and a fourth bedroom.
According to Bellway Northern Home Counties Sales Director Chris Edginton, the townhouse presents the perfect solution to the complex needs of today's purchasers' requirement for flexibility since it lends itself to zonal living and maximises each floor's potential.
“Whether it's 'boomerang kids' returning from university, accommodating elderly dependents, or the growing number of those working from home, distinct living zones have increasing appeal to homebuyers.
"What's more, the townhouse answers Government demands for higher density living since it takes up less land, but offers much more space than an equivalent two-storey house.
"It's more environmentally friendly too since there are less exposed surfaces from which to lose heat.
He continued: "For many, part of the attraction of living in a townhouse is the ability to create varying zones, which can be emphasised by the choice of décor. They offer all the convenience of modern living and are perfect for families, as they allow owners to tailor the layout to suit their lifestyle and needs.
“The flexibility to convert the ground floor studio room and any spare bedrooms into a study, a gym area or a TV den for children means that these homes lend themselves to a myriad of different options for living.”
The sales centre at MK Broughton is open 7 days a week, from 10am to 5pm. Telephone 01908 395463 for further information or visit www.bellway.co.uk.

New Development Meets Beaconsfield’s Housing Needs

Date of issue: 28th June 2006

There is currently a shortage of ‘mid-range’ property for sale in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.  The market predominantly consists of new apartments or very large, detached houses worth over £1million, leaving little choice for young professionals taking their next step on the property ladder, or downsizers who don’t want to move to an apartment.  The Beeches, an Antler Homes development of 13 semi-detached and terraced three and four bedroom homes in Beaconsfield, is the only new development in the area to offer mid-range homes.

John Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director of Antler Homes Southern, comments: “There is a shortage of three and four bedroom homes in Beaconsfield, yet there is clearly a demand for this type of property.  Beaconsfield is a charming market town, attractive to all ages with its proximity to the countryside, excellent schools and fantastic commuter links.  We’ve already sold six homes off-plan to a broad mixture of people; young professionals, families and a couple in their 70’s.  The mix of two and three story, three and four bedroom-homes, as well a range of interior layouts, means that The Beeches offers something to suit every taste.”

Set within a private, gated cul-de-sac, properties at The Beeches are elegantly finished, some in traditional red brick and some with cream rendering.  Front gardens and pathways are neatly landscaped to give the development an established feel.  All homes have good-sized gardens and either an integral garage or parking space.

Inside, every home incorporates a large, open plan kitchen and adjoining family room with French doors that open out onto the garden.  Kitchens include granite worktops, a stainless steel oven and hob, as well as an integrated fridge freezer and a dishwasher.
Floor layouts have various combinations of living accommodation depending on individual properties.

An exiting feature in every home is the provision of an advanced cabling infrastructure which allows buyers to establish their own computer and television arrangements, as well the option for home theatre systems and multi room music.

Located at Junction two of the M40, The Beeches is on the outskirts of Beaconsfield town centre, within easy commuting distance of London, Oxford and Birmingham. There are excellent transport links to London Marylebone from Beaconsfield station (35 minutes approx.), plus rapid motorway access to the M25, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

Prices at The Beeches start from £465,000 for a three bedroom semi-detached home.  The new show home is open daily from 10am to 5pm.  For further information, contact Antler Homes on: 01494 681 485 or visit the website: www.antlerhomes.co.uk

Buckinghamshire’s bustling towns and charming hamlets are a favourite for home buyers. Johnny Turner sees what’s currently available.

With its rolling hills, cosy villages, well-connected commuter towns and its friendly pace, Buckinghamshire has lured a variety of buyer types from London and beyond. New developments offer a range of homes, from starter apartments to large family homes.
Starting in Milton Keynes, Bellway Homes offers a scheme that is ideal for water sports enthusiasts – or for anyone who appreciates the beauty of a canalside location. Broughton MK, situated just off Chaffron Way, is a collection of 234 new homes, including one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-, four- and five-bedroom houses.

With Willen Lake only a three-minute car drive or ten-minute bicycle ride away, water sports-loving residents at Broughton MK will be able to indulge in windsurfing, sailing and water skiing. A tributary of the Grand Union Canal runs by the scheme and Milton Keynes village, with its 12th-century All Saints Church, is only a few minutes away.

The Redway, a network of pedestrian and cycle paths, encircles the development, allowing residents to walk or cycle safely to Willen Lake or the centre of Milton Keynes. To meet the need for cycle storage, garages have been extended to include bicycle racks, while apartment buildings will have cycle areas. Local schools are plentiful and the Kingston Centre is accessible for its Tesco hypermarket, Marks & Spencer, restaurants and leisure facilities.
For rail commuters, regular trains run from Milton Keynes station to London Euston in around 50 minutes. Motorists can reach links to the M1 and A5 within minutes.

Broughton MK is still in the construction stage, and buyers can currently choose from a range of incentives, including five per cent deposit paid, cashback, or stamp duty and legal fees paid. Conditions apply. Call the marketing suite, open daily from 10am to 5pm and until 8pm on Thursday, on 01908 395463.

Also in Milton Keynes, Miller Homes offers Oakhill View, which has a range of homes that will appeal to a variety of buyers, from first-timers to large families. An example is The Chantrey, a three-story town house with four bedrooms, priced from £274,950. It has a large kitchen and breakfast room, separate dining room, living room and separate family room, as well as a utility room. This home is ideal for the growing family in need of increased space. With the Chantrey, too, Miller is offering its very popular part-exchange scheme to qualifying buyers, making it easy to trade up to a new home with lots more room. With this scheme, Miller buys your old home, giving you a guaranteed buyer at a guaranteed price and no estate agents’ fees to pay on completion.

For those in search of lateral living you want, Miller also has a range of two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments at Oakhill View, built to a similar high level of specification as the rest of the development and priced from £164,950. These homes are ideal for first-time buyers – and to give them a money-saving start on the property ladder Miller will also pay the five per cent deposit. These offers are subject to terms and conditions.
Apartments are planned to suit informal, modern lifestyles, with a well-equipped kitchen opening into a dining area and living room. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room as well as fitted wardrobes. Like all the homes at Oakhill View, they have Roca bathrooms, and kitchens with AEG appliances, and are carpeted throughout.

Redrow’s sought-after development The Cedars, located in Hazlemere near High Wycombe, is finding favour with a range of buyers, including empty-nesters.
Just a short distance from High Wycombe town centre, Redrow is creating a stunning range of one- and two-bedroom apartments – perfect bases from which to enjoy new-found freedom.
Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow Homes (Southern) said: ‘Many people who have purchased a property at The Cedars are older buyers, looking for a home that fits in with their busy lifestyle. They no longer need lots of bedrooms but instead want a low-maintenance home, without compromising on style or quality.’
The Cedars is ideally situated in an established residential area, which provides its residents with all the necessary amenities such as shops, pubs and restaurants, making it ideal for downsizers. With High Wycombe surrounded by beautiful countryside and areas of outstanding natural beauty, The Cedars is also perfect for quiet country walks or bike rides, while London is also within easy commuting distance.

The homes at the Cedars score well on both the security side and with regard to energy efficiency. Each apartment comes with a single parking space included in the price. Helen Todd, sales and marketing director of Linden Homes Chiltern, says, ‘It really is a superb village location, which is why we have had such a fantastic response with homes being reserved even prior to the official launch. Customers are recognising that superior homes in such a sought-after and established residential location are not going to take long to sell and are taking advantage of buying off-plan in order to personalise their new home. The newly opened show home demonstrates the kind of lifestyle available.’
The homes have designer fitted kitchens with natural granite worktops and fully integrated stainless steel appliances by De Dietrich. A choice of floor and wall tiles are also available in the bathrooms, where purchasers will find luxury pristine white sanitaryware and underfloor heating.

The development has already attracted a high level of interest from house hunters who have been excited by the prospect of moving to this exciting location in one of the most desirable parts of the county.

Jason Colmer, Sales & Marketing Director for George Wimpey South Midlands, says, ‘Parklands is set to become the flagship development for the region, with a wide range of homes to suit every need, striking architectural features and a stunning setting with an established lake at its heart.’ Buyer interest was obvious, he says, from months before the first of the homes were released for sale. George Wimpey’s easymover programme will offer a range of special incentives on selected properties, including support for first- time buyers as well as those with a house to sell.
Woburn Sands enjoys a unique charm and character and offers a wide variety of everyday amenities, including a large selection of shops, a Post Office, banks, restaurants and traditional village inns. The village also features a medical centre, a dentists’ surgery, a primary and middle school, and a recreation ground.

Woburn Sands is surrounded by attractive woodland and countryside, providing the perfect retreat for those who enjoy the great outdoors, while the fast growing city of Milton Keynes is only six miles away with its wide choice of shopping and leisure facilities. Rail commuters will find the town’s rail station a short walk away, offering regular services to London and the North, while drivers will find the M1 and A5 within easy reach.

The sales centre at Parklands is due to open in the near future. In the meantime, further information on this and other George Wimpey developments is available on 01908 544800.

Following on from the success of Bryant Homes' Fairford Leys development in the area, the developer unveils The Square at Grand Central, situated close to Aylesbury railway station. The development will have 90 one- and two bedroom apartments. The emphasis here is on quality and affordability, combined with proximity to local amenities and transport links.
All apartments come with a fully fitted kitchen including an integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Most apartments have an en suite bathroom and either a patio or balcony.

Bryant Homes' regional sales manager, Donna Beange, said: ‘We expect The Square at Grand Central to attract a great deal of attention from house hunters as Bryant is well known in the area. These apartments will be ideal for first-time buyers or young professionals, as they will be reasonably priced with a view to enabling people to make the first step onto the property ladder. We will also have a first-time buyer package in place to help make the step even easier.
Beange predicts the combination of convenient location and high spec will attract a great deal of buyer interest. ‘We are recommending that buyers register their interest sooner rather than later to make sure they are amongst the first to find out price and build information,’ she says.
For further information on the homes available at The Square at Grand Central call 01296 488111.

Buckinghamshire regularly tops surveys of the most desirable places to live in Britain and it’s easy to see why. Johnny Turner looks at currently available homes in this classy locale.

Buckinghamshire offers a mix of large county towns, new towns and established villages, which means it appeals to a broad range of buyers. Whether you’re a first-time buyer, downsizer, expanding family or investment buyer, the impressive array of new homes in Bucks will have something for you.
In Beaconsfield, an extremely sought-after market town, Banner Homes is selling Burlington Place, a family-friendly development of six substantial five-bedroom detached homes. And as similar homes in the area would be expected to go for well over £1 million, the selling prices in this scheme of between £765,000 and £965,000 are very unusual in this particularly affluent area.
The area is immensely popular due to a number of factors: excellent communication links, close proximity to London, a good stock of well-proportioned houses and excellent schools, both private and state.

Selling agent Jerry Ashington of Ashington Page says, ‘The majority of new homes developments in Beaconsfield over the last few years have been priced at well over £1 million. Banner Homes has taken the opportunity to build exclusive homes in an established location only a quarter of a mile from the station, which are all priced comfortably under this amount.’ This has resulted in a lot of interest, he says. ‘We have had numerous enquiries.’
The newly opened three-storey, six-bedroom Devonshire show home is drawing a range of interested house hunters. All of the homes are reached via a private driveway off Caledon Road, and each of the three designs offers generous, flexible family living space. All also have double garages and feature interesting design details such as Doric columns, stone cills, plinths and detailing. The designer kitchens feature the latest integrated appliances and there is CAT5 cabling and a telephone point in each of the rooms.

Burlington Place is perfectly placed for access to the excellent local schools and the centre of Beaconsfield is within walking distance. In the centre of town there are many specialist retailers, supermarkets and high street shops. Meanwhile, the Old Town, which is slightly further afield, grew in the 18th century and contains antique shops, boutiques, country pubs and plenty of good-quality restaurants.
Another huge draw to the area is the breathtaking countryside. Beaconsfield is an ideal destination for those who want the beauty of the country without leaving behind the convenience of a town location.
Get further details about Burlington Place by calling the sales office on 01494 730848. Visit bannerhomes.co.uk.

Also from Banner comes Clarence Court, an age-exclusive development of ten one- and two-bedroom apartments, five two- and three-bedroom cottages and an unusual two-bedroom bungalow. The location is a prime residential spot in the heart of the market town of Wendover.
Nestling among the Chiltern Hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Wendover is full of rustic charm and offers plenty to do. The area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Clarence Court offers plenty of activities, ranging from the popular weekly market to tennis, cricket and bowls. Transport from the development is also convenient, with the train station only 200 yards away.
Piers Banfield, group sales and marketing director of Banner Homes, points out the appeal of Clarence Court: ‘The great thing about it is that home owners don’t have to compromise on space or comfort, yet they have the freedom to enjoy all the benefits that Wendover has to offer.’
Seven properties now remain at the development – three apartments and four cottages at prices ranging from £315,000 to £350,000. For further information contact the sales advisor at Brown & Merry on 01296 624444 or visit the Banner Homes website at bannerhomes.co.uk.

Hampden Grove, Banner’s development in Gerrards Cross, is perfect for those who want to live outside the capital without compromising on style, finish and convenience. The development offers the latest in high-specification contemporary apartment living, with professionally designed kitchens that have built-in appliances and under-unit lighting. Bathrooms feature stylish white sanitary ware, recessed downlighters and heated towel rails, as well as ceramic floor tiling. In some properties wiring for multi-room hi-fi systems and CAT5e cabling is available.
The four 700 sq ft two-bedroom apartments in the scheme are perfect for commuters to the capital, as the development is close to a mainline station which offers regular services into London Marylebone with a journey time of approximately half an hour. There are also two supermarkets plus boutiques and high street banks and stores. And the M40 is easily accessible for routes to the M25 and further afield.
Two properties remain at Hampden Grove: the final apartment is priced at £329,950, and the detached house is on the market at £835,000. For more information contact selling agent Frost Partnership on 01753 890909.

Redrow Homes has secured planning permission to transform the site of The Cedars public house in Hazelmere, High Wycombe into a development of 20 two-bedroom and three one-bedroom apartments. Boasting a secure gated entrance, each apartment benefits from a parking space and either a balcony or terrace. The new development will also see an extension to the adjacent doctors’ surgery.
Paul Moran, sales director of Redrow Homes (Southern), said, ‘The Cedars is likely to prove particularly popular among purchasers who are seeking an easy-to-maintain home in a secure environment, within walking distance of a range of shops, including a supermarket.
‘It is also well suited to commuters, thanks to its excellent road and rail links. There is a bus stop over the road from the development and High Wycombe train station, approximately four miles away, offers a regular service to London Marylebone in around 45 minutes. Also, the M40, M4 and M25 are nearby.’
The homes are expected to be released for sale any day now. To register your interest contact 01256 366450.

One of the most desirable Home Counties is also one of the most affordable, finds Anna Bowden .

Stretching from the outskirts of London towards the Midlands, Buckinghamshire is home to rolling Chiltern Hills, the meandering Thames, picturesque villages, a host of welcoming pubs, spectacular country walks around historic houses and a rich literary heritage. Writers such as John Milton, TS Eliot and Mary Shelley lived in the county, and there are many home buyers today hoping to follow in their footsteps. Fortunately, new home developers are making it easy for them by building superb quality developments in all Buckinghamshire’s hotspots. Surrounded by beauty and convenience, why live anywhere else?

Bellway Northern Home Counties is one such developer, currently offering a selection of 39 terraced and detached houses at Mount View, a development on the western fringes of Milton Keynes. There are 18 different styles of houses design at Mount View, and all have been awarded the eco-homes standard, which means that they have been designed to maximise energy efficiency and help home owners save money while being environmentally friendly. Heat loss is minimised and low energy lighting used. Only timber from sustainable sources has been used in the construction process, and residents will have water butts to capture rainwater for watering plants and gardens.

As an added bonus for residents Bellway has teamed up with Modular Gardens, a bespoke garden service affordable to the average home buyer that offers excellent opportunities to those who want an outdoor space but who have neither the time nor the inclination to create one themselves.
Chris Edginton, Bellway Northern Home Counties sales director, says, ‘We’ve offered buyers bespoke services for their homes for years and custom-built gardens seemed the logical progression. The design and build service gives purchasers the opportunity to have a garden that responds to their individual needs.
‘Creating a garden is one of the more difficult aspects for buyers to complete once they have moved into their home. Purchasers can discuss their requirements with the Modular Garden team, who will then create a garden to meet their specifications. The team has created an impressive demonstration garden at Mount View.’
Residents at Mount View will be close to excellent transport links; regular mainline services run from Milton Keynes into London Euston, with a journey time of around 50 minutes, and motorists can access links to the M1 and A5 within minutes.
Homes available at the development start from £215,000 for a three-bedroom house; £242,000 for four bedrooms and £380,000 for a five-bedroom house. To find out more call a sales adviser on 01908 504438 or visit bellway.co.uk.

Banner Homes’ Hampden Grove development in Gerrards Cross offers buyers the latest in high-specification apartment living, meaning that commuters choosing to live outside the capital don’t have to compromise on style and finish. Kitchens are professionally designed, with under-unit lighting, downlighters and built-in appliances. Bathrooms feature stylish white sanitary ware, recessed downlighters, ceramic floor tiling and heated towel rails; and some properties even boast pre-wiring for multi-room hi-fi systems and Cat5e cabling.
The development itself is close to the mainline station, from where regular services access London Marylebone within 30 minutes. Hampden Grove is also close to boutiques, supermarkets, banks and the M40.

Piers Banfield, group sales and marketing director for Banner Homes, says, ‘Commuters nowadays are looking for the tranquillity of a rural location combined with the luxury specification and convenience of top-end urban developments when choosing a home. Hampden Grove is well placed to meet this demand.’
Properties currently available at the development include four two-bedroom apartments (700sq ft in size) as well as one two-bedroom cottage, two villas and one detached house. The two-bedroom apartments are priced from £329,500. For further information call selling agent Frost Partnership on 01753 890909 or visit the Banner Homes website at bannerhomes.co.uk.

Also by Banner Homes is Monarch Place in Loudwater, an exclusive development of 16 two-bedroom apartments and 11 three- and four-bedroom town houses designed to meet the needs of those with busy lifestyles.
Within the accommodation the emphasis is on ease and convenience; all apartments have carefully laid out kitchens, adjoining bathrooms and fitted wardrobes designed to aid practical living. The three-storey town houses offer maximum flexibility regarding use of space.
Monarch Place is fantastically located near a selection of local amenities, including a large supermarket and various independent outlets. In addition, it is located only a short distance from the extensive range of shops and buzzing nightlife options of nearby towns High Wycombe and Beaconsfield.
Prices at Monarch Place range from £179,950 for a two-bedroom apartment to £370,000 for a four-bedroom detached town house. For further details call the sales advisers on 01494 447551 or visit the show home, open daily between 10am and 5pm.

KingsOak North London has seen great success with its Grosvenor Court development, also in Loudwater, where just three apartments currently remain from the original collection of 18 one-and two-bedroom apartments. The high-specification homes at Grosvenor Court are popular with young professional buyers attracted by the convenience of the location and the excellent commuting opportunities it presents.

The development enjoys a very central location at London Road, which offers good access to the amenities of High Wycombe (including a John Lewis store). It is also close to junction 3 of the M40, making commuting into central London relatively simple. The mainline station is approximately three miles away, from where trains run into London Marylebone within a journey time 40 minutes. The towns of Maidenhead, Amersham and Beaconsfield are also close, as are a host of pretty local villages and country pubs and restaurants, offering a desirable Sunday-afternoon-drive-and-pub-lunch lifestyle!
In addition to acres of countryside and nature reserves nearby – perfect for invigorating walks – there are many golf clubs in the vicinity, a sports centre at High Wycombe and the Odyssey swimming pool at Glory Mill. Those with a more energetic disposition can benefit from a dry ski slope and snowboarding runs at Wycombe Sports Centre, whilst those more interested in relaxation and cultural facilities can visit nearby art centres, the Swan Theatre and a UCI six-screen cinema, all in Wycombe.
‘This is a great location for young, professional buyers, as there is so much to do, both locally and within a few miles,’ says David Campbell, managing director for KingsOak North London. ‘In addition, transport links are plentiful, making commuting to London and other parts of the South particularly easy.’
Prices for remaining apartments at Grosvenor Place start from £182,995 for one bedroom. For further details call 01494 472796 or visit the sales office, open Thursdays to Mondays from 11am to 6pm.
KingsOak is also offering Haddington Manor, a collection of two-bedroom apartments and two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes on a former MOD homes site in Wendover, where, for a limited period only, the developer is offering part exchange on selected plots. This means that buyers get the home of their dreams and are also guaranteed a price on their home.
‘Part exchange is a brilliant option for someone with a home to sell,’ explains David Campbell. ‘It removes all the traditional worries from buying or selling, such as your buyer pulling out at the last moment, or someone beating you to the home you really want. This way, you can virtually sit back and relax while KingsOak does all the running around for you!’

Wendover is a popular location for those searching for a new home, as it enjoys an attractive Chiltern Hills setting close to the major towns of Amersham, Chesham and Hemel Hempstead (on the Hertfordshire border). With plenty of shopping facilities, sporting options and leisure prospects nearby, it is the perfect location for active families who want to enjoy their free time as well as good commuting prospects. The development boasts access to convenient rail services into London Marylebone, as well as being within easy reach of the A41, the B4009 and junction 18 of the M25. And for those who travel abroad regularly, Heathrow and Luton airports are within easy striking distance, opening up even more possibilities.
Prices currently start from £199,995 for a two-bedroom apartment and from £279,995 for a three-bedroom home with garage. To find out more call the sales office, open daily between 11am and 6pm, on 01296 625736. Anna Bowden explains why a new home in the county of Buckinghamshire can offer ideal living for all purchasers.

Rolling green hills, beautiful English countryside, thriving local communities, cosmopolitan towns, good transport links and excellent schools – Buckinghamshire in a nutshell. This traditional seat of English civilisation has long been a popular town for those looking to bring up their children in a secure, leafy environment; for commuters looking for an easy journey to the city while living in a rural idyll; and for those seeking fun living with plenty of employment options on the side; and now new home builders are making the decision to move to Bucks even easier with an amazing selection of high quality new homes to choose from.

Banner Homes is currently offering several new developments in Buckinghamshire, including Ledborough Court in Beaconsfield, Links Green Place in Flackwell Heath and Greenacres in Chesham. The former is a small but exclusive development of three spacious two-bedroom apartments and two larger split-level apartments, benefiting from mature landscaped grounds to the rear and located within walking distance of Beaconsfield New Town.

The completed development will boast 21 three- and four-bedroom family homes, built using a carefully-considered mix of original Charles Church designs in differing elevational techniques including knapped flint and decorative tile hanging.
At Hazeley Fields the developer is offering its Select service, to give purchasers a distinctive range of options from granite worktops in the kitchens to landscaping schemes for the gardens, allowing each new resident to tailor-make their dream home.
Milton Keynes itself is a vibrant, modern city, boasting excellent transport links to both Birmingham and London as well as a wealth of shopping and leisure options. Potential buyers are invited to come along and ask any questions they may have about the development itself or the process of buying a new home.
‘Whether a buyer is interested in the potential savings available to them by opting for a Part Exchange, simply wants to know how to set foot on the housing ladder for the first time, or even wants to discover why it’s a fantastic time to buy a brand home, our Buyers’ Weekend is for them,’ advised Mike Moss, managing director for KingsOak North London.
‘There are some really excellent offers available; all they have to do is turn up and discover more.’ Among the deals on offer is the chance to have your mortgage paid until 2005, subject to terms and conditions.

Industry expert phoenixplc takes a look at the best new homes available if you're looking for…

A Family Home

What makes a good family home?  Plenty of space obviously, well thought out accommodation (no rabbit hutches wanted here, unless they’re for the pets!), a kitchen that can handle constant traffic and a garden to run around in.  Luckily, there is a positive abundance of developments out there to satisfy the largest family.

Purchasers in North Buckinghamshire can take a look at Manor Park, Redrow Southern’s exclusive new development of three, four and five bedroom homes set in the bustling town of Bletchley.  The four-bedroom Salisbury creates a prime example of the traditional design and high specification to be found here.  A spacious lounge provides plenty of room for informal family evenings, whilst a separate dining room is perfect for entertaining.  There’s a large kitchen/breakfast room whilst a study gives mum or dad a quiet area to do some work in.  Upstairs, the bedrooms are of a good size with an ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom and fitted wardrobes to bedrooms one and two.  Manor Park is set just a short distance off the A421 Buckingham to Milton Keynes road link and lies to the north west of Bletchley town centre, whilst the A5 trunk road and M1 provide fast road links to London and the North.  Prices range from around £93,950 for a two-bedroom home to £235,000 for a five-bedroom home.  For further information telephone the sales office on 01908 630886.

Braintree, Essex, is home to another collection of homes from Redrow South East.  The Maltings, which will comprise of around 200 units, consists of one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses.  Set close to a good range of shopping, leisure and entertainment facilities, the development offers a diverse mix of homes, all with a high specification.  To find out more about The Maltings, telephone 01992 655800.

Try Homes’ Amberwood development at St Leonard’s, East Sussex is a development of 28 detached, three and four bedroom properties in nine different styles, including detached bungalows.  A show house is available so that you can get a taste of what the homes have to offer, with attractive external elevations featuring dormer window and recessed porch and luxurious interiors.  A large and spacious living room with French windows into the spacious hallway leads through to a 15-ft dining room.  There is, of course, a good-sized kitchen/breakfast room as well as a cloakroom.  Four spacious bedrooms are set on the first floor, three of which are double, the master with ensuite, and the family bathroom. The property has a private, landscaped garden and patio ideal for summer barbecues.  Each of the properties at Amberwood has a private garden and garage.  For further details, telephone the sales centre on 01424 729297.
