Amanda Shiel looks at some impressive developments in this glorious county

Pennington

Bracken Mead comprises ten two-, three- and four-bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses. The development combines red brick work, grey or red tiling and white render with traditional pitched roof and gabled architecture. The mix of colours and design compliments the surrounding countryside and draws on the local vernacular.

The properties incorporate luxury custom built kitchens which include a Siemens stainless steel gas hob, single oven, integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and ceramic floor tiles.
All bathrooms feature pure white sanitaryware with matching ceramic floor and wall tiling, plus chrome fixtures, white ladder heated towel rail and thermostatically controlled showers. Properties also benefit from mains-operated smoke and security alarms.

Pennington has a range of shops, a church and Priestlands Secondary School all within a short walk from the development. The nearby market town of Lymington is a stunning tourist hotspot full of boutique shops and tea rooms and the three marinas ensure the area is very popular in the summer months when visitors can charter boats or enjoy strolls by the water.
Lymington Train Station has regular trains to Brockenhurst which take eight minutes. From Brockenhurst there are direct trains to London Waterloo, which take one and a half hours, and to Southampton Central taking 12 minutes.

Prices at Bracken Mead start from £260,000 for a two-bedroom end terrace house, £290,000 for a three-bedroom mid terraced house and £330,000 for a four-bedroom semi detached house.
A three-bedroom semi-detached home in the same village is also available at Bracken Wood, priced at £295,000.
Marketing suite open daily between 10am-5pm. For further information on both developments call 08456 760 102 or visit antlerhomes.co.uk.

Basingstoke

Highfields, sited on Old Kempshott Lane, is a stunning collection of 300 new apartments and two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses. The homes, which overlook open countryside, are set in an imaginatively designed landscape of streets, squares and avenues, with plenty of green spaces. Internally, the living spaces are generously sized and the kitchens, fitted with smart contemporary appliances, have enough room to entertain family and friends.

The development is very well placed for travelling around. The M3 is within a very short drive and, for rail commuters, nearby Basingstoke station provides frequent services to London Waterloo taking around three-quarters of an hour.

Two-bedroom houses are priced from £209,995 and three-bedroom houses start from £239,995. Four- and five-bedroom homes will be released shortly. Barratt has a range of incentives available for first-time buyers. Contact the marketing suite on 01256 478583 or visit
