Bulgaria is one of the oldest European states. Half the country is covered in mountains, making it a fine retreat for skiers. There is also a wide coastline 380 km in length. Summers in Bulgaria are long and hot, averaging 25 to 30 degrees C, and winters are snowy.

It’s a three-hour flight from the UK direct, with two scheduled airlines currently flying to Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia, and coastal town of Varna, once a day. There are a number of regional airports including Bourgas, located on the Black Sea coast, which during the summer season service flights from Bulgaria to nineteen different airports in the UK.

The country is one of the world’s fastest growing economies. EU membership boosted the already robust and modern legal framework and this will support investors in Bulgaria still further. It maintains all the indicators for economic growth – falling unemployment, low tax and labour costs and a highly educated workforce.

For tourists and residents alike, Bulgaria has something for everyone. Old cities are steeped in ancient history while the modern resorts offer plenty of skiing and golf. During the summer months in Bulgaria there’s plenty of outdoor activities, with hiking, mountain biking, riding and whitewater rafting, all close to the Pirin National Park.
