DESCRIPTION:
Completed in 2006, Willow Copse has been built in an impressive Georgian style with the reception rooms having high ceilings and large windows. The house has been constructed of brick, flint and stone under a slate and tile roof.Working closely with the builders the current owners greatly enhanced the original plan for the house by almost doubling the square footage. Additional work was carried out including: - The garage block - Under floor heating in the majority of the house - Creation of the snooker room and staff flat above - Landscaping the garden - Adding structured cabling system with smart-house technology inc. LCD panels for security and lights - Adding of the second floor - The - infinity swimming pool - Irrigation system in garden - Installation of lighting throughout the groundsOn turning off Pebble Hill a smart set of electric oak gates open to the rhododendron lined gravel drive. This sweeps past the paddock and through the mature trees which hide Willow Copse from the road. The drive turns into a large turning circle in front of the main house where a spur leads off to the garage block beyond. For the dimension and layout of rooms please consult the floorplans.
ACCOMMODATION:
Ground FloorAn impressive front door opens into the large 3 storey reception hall with a light well at the top. A carved oak staircase, with cupboard under, climbs up the right wall forming the 1st floor landing. The ground floor is paved with limestone, on one wall is a fireplace with a white stone surround.Just off from the reception hall is the sitting room which overlooks the turning circle at the front of the house. The fantastic study is located to the very eastern end of the house. There is a fireplace with wood burner and white stone surround and the floor is laid with oak boards. A set of French doors open to the south facing raised terrace offering a wonderful outlook over the garden. The drawing room, similarly to the study, also has an oak floor. A set of double doors from the drawing room lead to the dining room with an open fireplace and white stone surround. Before reaching the kitchen there is an area of wine cabinets and a humidor, beyond which is a cloakroom. The - Mark Wilkinson kitchen is an obvious hub of the house. The units are made of painted wood with a granite work surface over; the large island in the centre of the room is constructed of the same. Other appliances in the kitchen include: 4-oven AGA with hotplate, double sink, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. In the corner of the kitchen is a fixed breakfast area. Part of the further work that was carried out includes the addition of a wonderful garden room which adjoins the kitchen. This has a set of French doors which lead on to the south facing raised terrace. It is worth noting that all the principal reception rooms have a south facing aspect.A stable door leads from the kitchen to the utility room, also designed by Mark Wilkinson, fitted with painted wood units and granite work tops, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, spaces for washing/drying machine and butlers basin. The house is positioned centrally within the plot, is well protected on all sides by mature woodland. Within the woodland are two natural streams and surrounding the house is a sizeable area of landscaped formal gardens, interspersed by herbaceous borders. Particular trees within the land include silver birch, beech, pine and oak. Surrounding the raised terrace, on the southern side of the house, is a yew hedge.A natural clearing in the trees, near the gates, offers the wonderful opportunity for use as a paddock, currently seeded with wild flowers. There is irrigation throughout the grounds, this system is fully automated and uses rain water caught in two collecting tanks within the grounds. Within the grounds and woodland there is an extensive array of lighting.Next to the house is a walled rose garden constructed of brick and flint. To the west of the house, accessed via the utility room, is the fantastic heated infinity swimming pool. Truly inspirational, this pool offers a great view through a clearing in the woods.
